اہلیت اصل میں حرف چہارم کی تشدید کے ساتھ بر وزن مفعولن ہے۔ لیکن اردو میں حرف چہارم کی تخفیف کے ساتھ بروزن فاعلن بولا جاتا ہے اور اردو میں یہی درست ہے۔ ’’اہلیہ‘‘ بمعنی ’’بیوی‘‘ اردو والوں کی اختراع ہے اور اب اردو میں بھی بہت کم مستعمل ہے۔ بہر حال، تلفظ اس کا بھی بروزن فاعلن ہی درست ہے۔ عربی میں بیوی کو ’’اہلی‘‘ کہتے ہیں۔ ممکن ہے’’اہلیہ‘‘ وہاں سے بنایا گیا ہو۔
