- (لفظاً) وہ بات جو مفروض یا لازم کر لی جائے ، (علم بدیع) کلام میں لطف پیدا کرنے کے لیے کسی لفظ کے معنی لوگوں کی مراد کے خلاف لینا ، جیسے : (شعر) :ـــ آنکھ لگتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ نیند آتی ہے ، آنکھ اپنی جو لگی چین نہیں خواب نہیں ـــ لوگوں کی مراد آنکھ لگنے سے نیند آنا ہوتی ہے اور قائل نے دوسرے مصرعے میں آنکھ لگنے کے معنی عاشق ہونا مراد لیے ہیں
