- उस के प्रति कहते हैं जो अपने घर वालों एवं सगे-संबंधियों आदि से व्यवहार करे और दूसरों को कुछ न दे

विशेष • बच्चों की नज़र उतारने या उनकी बीमारी को दूर करने के लिये पकवान या आटे की लोई को सिर पर से घुमाकर बाहर फेंक देते हैं, जहाँ उसे कुत्ता खा लेता है इसी को 'वारना' कहते हैं। कहावत का अर्थ यह है कि मालकिन ने बला को दूर करने के लिए पकवान 'वारा' और उसे बांदी को ही खिला दिया इस तरह घर की मुसीबत बाहर न जाकर घर में ही रही।
