विशेष • कहावत उस समय की है जब लोग चरखे से सूत कात कर जुलाहों को बुनने के लिए दे दिया करते थे। किसी ने बुनने के लिए सूत दिया परंतु जब मज़दूरी देने का वक़्त आया तो कहा कि हमारा सूत घट गया है।

وضاحتی نوٹ • کہاوت اس وقت کی ہے جب لوگ چرخے سے سوت کات کر جُلاہوں کو بُننے کے لئے دے دیا کرتے تھے، کسی نے بننے کے لئے سوت دیا لیکن جب مزدوری دینے کا وقت آیا تو کہا کہ ہمارا سوت گھٹ گیا ہے۔
