روزی روٹی یہ فقرہ خود ہی نہایت بدآہنگ اور بے تکا ہے، اس پر طرہ یہ کہ اس کے ساتھ ہم لوگ ’’جڑا ہونا‘‘ بھی بولنے لگے ہیں، اور بچاری اردو زبان کے ہی تعلق سے یہ غیر متعین اور بھیک سی مانگتے ہوئے الفاظ بولے جاتے ہیں۔ ’’اردو کو روزی روٹی سے جوڑنا چاہئے‘‘۔ ’’معاش‘‘ جیسا سبک لفظ ہوتے ہوئے ’’روزی روٹی‘‘ ایجاد کرنے کی کوئی ضرورت نہیں۔ غلط اور نا مناسب اور قبیح: اردو کو روزی روٹی سے جوڑنا چاہئے۔ صحیح اور مناسب: اردو کو معاش سے/روزی کمانے سے/ منسلک ہونا چاہئے۔/اردو کو ذریعۂ معاش بنانا چاہئے/بنانے کا انتظام کرنا چاہئے۔
