- (रसूम हिंद) सत्यान रखना उस को कहते हैं कि किसी रेशम के कपड़े पर एक हाथ का निशान बना कर काट लेते हैं, इस पर कारचोब या गोखरू का काम बनाते हैं, ये सत्यान कहलाती हैं. ननदें ये बना कर लाती हैं और ज़च्चा के पलंग के पास दीवार पर लगा देती हैं. ग़रीब लोग हाथ पर नील लगा कर इस का छाया दीवार पर लगाते हैं. इस से मतलब ये है कि ज़च्चा बच्चा को नज़र ना लगे क्योंकि नंद ये काम करती है इस को इस का हक़ मिलता है

- (رسوم ہند) ستیان رکھنا اس کو کہتے ہیں کہ کسی ریشم کے کپڑے پر ایک ہاتھ کا نِشان بنا کر کاٹ لیتے ہیں ، اس پر کارچوب یا گوکھرو کا کام بناتے ہیں ، یہ ستیان کہلاتی ہیں. نندیں یہ بنا کر لاتی ہیں اور زچہ کے پلن٘گ کے پاس دِیوار پر لگا دیتی ہیں. غریب لوگ ہاتھ پر نِیل لگا کر اس کا چھایا دِیوار پر لگاتے ہیں. اس سے مطلب یہ ہے کہ زچہ بچہ کو نظر نہ لگے کیونکہ نند یہ کام کرتی ہے اس کو اس کا حق مِلتا ہے.
