- जाफ़र बिन अबी तालिब का उपनाम जो उनको पैग़ंबर मुहम्मद साहब ने मूता नामक युद्ध के अवकर पर दिया था कि वह झंडा उठाने वाले थे और काफ़िरों से जिहाद कर रहे थे, यहाँ तक कि उनके दोनों हाथ कट गए, वह फिर भी झंडा को संभाले रहे, और शहीद हो गए तो पैग़ंबर मुहम्मद साहब ने उनके संबंध में बताया कि जाफ़र को ईश्वर ने स्वर्ग में दो पर दिये हैं जिनसे वह उड़ते फिरते हैं

- حضرت جعفر بن ابی طالب کا لقب جو ان کو رسالت مآب صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے غزوۂ موتہ میں اس موقع پردیا تھا کہ وہ عَلَم بردار تھے اور مشرکین سے جہاد کرر ہے تھے، یہاں تک کہ اُن کے دونوں ہاتھ کٹ گئے، وہ پھر بھی عَلَم کوسنبھالے رہے، اور شہید ہو گئے تو رسالت مآب صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے متعلق فرمایا کہ جعفر کو خدائے تعالیٰ نے جنت میں دو پر عطا فرمائے ہیں جن سے وہ اڑتے پھرتے ہیں
- ذو اربعہ اضلاع میں دو ضلع کلاں متوازی غیر متساوی اور دو ضلع خور غیرمتوازی متساوی ہوں اسکو ذُوالجناحین کہتے ہیں
