(بدیع) (لَف کے معنی ہیں لپیٹنا اورنشر کے معنی کے ہیں پھیلانا) مذکر۔ علم بیان کی اصطلاح میں وہ صفت، جس میں اوّل چند چیزوں کا ذکر کرنا (بالترتیب یا بلاترتیب) اور پھرچند اور چیزیں بیان کرنا، جو پہلی چیزوں سے نسبت رکھتی ہوں مگر اس طرح کہ ہرایک کی نسبت اپنے منسوب الیہ سے مل جاوے، اس شعرمیں لفّ و نشرکیا مزہ دیتا ہے، جیسے، روئے پیٹے، مرے، ماتم میں وہ اتنا اے قدر، ہاتھ کی مہندی چھٹی آنکھ کا سرمہ چھوٹا (رونے سے سرمہ اور پیٹنے سے مہندی چھوٹ گئی)
